In the span of 20 years, BP has partnered Colombia in developing the country's principle hydrocarbon find to date. More than a billion barrels of oil have been pumped from fields located in the eastern Department of Casanare, also the site for facilities that supply gas to the national market.

More importantly however, the significant royalties generated by BP's steady oil and gas production have provided national and regional authorities with the resources needed to fund widespread social expenditure.

After two decades of continuous presence in Colombia, BP is looking into new business opportunities like Caribbean offshore exploration, interest that confirms our well-founded belief in the present and future of this emerging Andean nation.
