Supply and trading

Each program is designed to give you maximum exposure to our trading business

Overview

Supply and trading’s role is to enhance performance and maximize group value for our assets through distinctive supply, commodity trading, risk management and information technology, underpinned by a world-class finance, control and compliance infrastructure.

Each program is designed to give you maximum exposure to our supply and trading business. You will be working on projects with real impacts to our bottom line; each intern will be placed in a team and is expected to be an integral part of the team’s success.

Within supply and trading we offer summer internships lasting eight to twelve weeks (dependent on location) as well 1 year placements (UK only). Our internships are designed and targeted at penultimate year students which means that when returning to university for your final year, you could have a graduate role lined up for the following year.

To secure an internship offer you will move through most, if not all of the graduate recruitment process, so we would encourage you to seek an internship in the area you hope to get a graduate job in.

What to expect

As an intern within supply and trading you will be assigned to a team that best matches your skills set and career ambitions.

You will initially attend an induction where you will meet the supply and trading intern community as well as the business sponsor for the area you are joining.

You will then join your team, taking on real responsibility and adding value from the beginning.

Throughout your internship you will gain both on the job training as well as face to face and online learning to develop both technical and soft skills.  Alongside this, you will be assigned a graduate buddy for the duration of the programme; helping you to network and learn everything you need to perform in your role.
