BP operates one vessel in the North-West Shelf Shipping Company (NWSSC) fleet, the Northwest Shearwater.
It is a Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) tanker. Built by Kawasaki Heavy Industries in Japan, the ship was delivered in 1991 and became part of the NWSSC fleet in September of that year. It is British flag with its port of registry in Hamilton, Bermuda and its classification society is Lloyds Register. BP operates this ship and provides its own crews and provisions. It operates from the North-West Shelf Project at Withnell Bay, Western Australia, to Japan and Korea and it has been to Europe.
