Canary Wharf, London
BP's premises in 20 Canada Square, Canary Wharf, were completed in October 2005 and house BP's Integrated Supply and Trading (IST) and City Facing (CF) functions, with over 2200 employees and contractors.
20 Canada Square is a purpose-built trading and financial office with state-of-the-art technology and facilities. BP occupies six floors. Levels 1 and 2 are the trading floors, while level 3 contains the main restaurant and executive leadership area; level 4 is home to the 200-strong City Facing team and levels 5 and 6 are a mix of commercial operations and digital communications technology teams.
Facilities in the office include four catering (restaurant and cafe) options, 72 meeting rooms, three treatment (first aid) rooms, shower and locker rooms, ample breakout space, and views over the Millennium Dome and Canada Square Park.
20 Canada Square has received awards for its 'Green Office' initiatives such as its integrated print, copy and archive solutions to minimise paper waste. Wireless operations, and the ‘right sizing’ of mechanical and electrical power (rather than over providing) significantly reduce power use.
It is one of the only trading environments in the world to operate a 'thin-building' design, whereby all major technology hardware, equipment and data storage is housed offsite. This minimises the building's power usage and carbon emissions, as well as maximising data protection.
The Sunbury Business Park is BP’s largest office site in the world. It is home to 4,500 employees and over 80,000 visitors a year.
The International Centre for Business and Technology at Sunbury-on-Thames is as complex and diverse as BP itself. With every business represented - upstream technical and business teams, downstream marketing and commercial teams, operations supporting the tanker fleet of BP Shipping and the corporate function teams.
The Sunbury site has a rich history with BP. Former laboratory and technology buildings, the Park has been transformed in recent years into a fresh and modern business park. The new development has been carefully designed to reflect the values of the BP brand and the people that work within it. Nine imposing glass-fronted buildings with stunning atriums, dynamic interiors and airy open plan offices combine to create a perfectly calm and pleasant working environment.
