Maintenance (REMIT)

The maintenance events that are disclosed on this page are those that may have the potential to significantly effect the prices of certain "wholesale energy products" (as defined in REMIT).

Unplanned Events

Planned FPS maintenance (updated 15/12/2016)


Change-over to new LPG refrigeration unit, expected August 2017, 7 weeks.  No LPG export, but not expected to significantly impact upstream production.

Unity shutdown for 3 days from 1st August for annual ESDV tests and work on GAEL valves*.  All Unity entrants shutdown

GAEL Pipeline shutdown from 1st August, duration not known, to replace valves.  All FGAEL entrants shutdown*.

Unity shutdown for 2 days in August to reinstate GAEL valves.  All Unity entrants shutdown.*

Annual ESDV test on Forties Charlie for 1 day on the 10th August 2017. All Forties Charlie entrants will be shutdown. 

Trains 1 and 2 coincident shutdown for 3-6 days, during August 17.  Variable levels of restriction to upstream production.

* GAEL valve work, execution yet to be determined, may be 2018 instead of 2017.


Bi-annual ESDV test at Cruden Bay for 1 day on the 1st/2nd  August (following Unity ESDV test). FPS will fully shut in for the duration of the test.

Annual ESDV test on Unity for 1 day on the 1st August. All Unity entrants will be shutdown.

Annual ESDV test on Forties Charlie for 1 day on the 1st/2nd August.   All Forties Charlie entrants will be shutdown.
