Across the globe, we’re finding new ways to take oil and gas out of the ground
An oil rig hundreds of miles out in the North Sea, a pipeline from Azerbaijan
through Georgia to Turkey, an LNG facility with a production capacity of millions of
tonnes a year in Indonesia. What do all these places and assets have in common?
The need for safe, reliable operations. With active exploration and production interests
in over 25 countries and plans for continued growth, our teams in Operations are the
backbone of our business – and they’re in the spotlight like never before. BP operates
more of its own production than any other major energy company. We need people with
operations’ experience who can grow with us, support our progress and help us set
the tone for the rest of the industry.
Join us in Operations, and you’ll be part of an expert team that freely shares knowledge
and experience. You’ll also have structured training and development to help you
reach your personal and professional goals. BP operates centres of excellence that
reflect the breadth of our expertise and give you opportunities to gain leading-edge
skills. We value technical excellence and enable our experts to progress whether
they want to move into management or progress in their disciplines. All of this
combined with our exploration heritage ensures that new, varied and challenging
opportunities are always on offer.
Roles
Engineering Services
Engineering Services (ES) delivers small projects and brownfield modifications,
turnaround (TAR) planning and delivery, inspection and integrity management programmes.
ES also provides discipline engineering support in field operations. Our teams interface
with planning as well as reliability and maintenance teams to deliver improved facility
efficiency by minimising unplanned production losses and driving continuous improvement.
Roles in ES include discipline engineers, projects engineers, TAR leaders and specialists
and inspection execution managers.
Logistics
Logistics involves the movement of material, supplies and personnel to and from
our operating locations and, in some cases, the related infrastructure. Depending
on the location, the logistics team could comprise specialists in Marine, Aviation
(both helicopter and fixed wing), and Trucking. The team often oversees the base
for these activities. In some locations, Logistics is also responsible for managing
camp facilities. With a workforce extending from operational managers to drivers,
there’s a range of roles available in marine operations, aviation, dispatching,
camps management, utilities management, fleet management, and roads/well pads supervision.
Operations Engineering
Join us in Operations Engineering and you’ll provide services that support on-going
production activity. Working closely with Operations leadership teams, you’ll help
promote safe and compliant day-to-day operations. From monitoring operating envelopes
to assisting in developing operating instructions and leading compliance audits,
you’ll make a difference to BP’s progress. You could also get involved in the technical
input for control of work, the development and implementation of operations start-up/shutdown
and normal operation strategies, or assist multi-disciplinary engineering teams
in developing operational flexibility for changing process conditions. Roles in
Operations Engineering include Offshore and Onshore Operations Engineers, discipline
engineers supporting operations, and Team Leaders.
Operations Management
Operations is the biggest employee community at BP. Leaders in Operations are focused
on assuring our safe and compliant day-to-day operations. Join us and you’ll be
responsible for prioritising and organising activities and ensuring safe work practices
are followed. Operations Leaders are also responsible for developing their teams
and managing the operating costs in their area. Leadership roles include: Operations
Team leaders, Offshore Installation Managers, and Operations Managers and Area Operations
Managers.
Planning
Planning is a key component of running an effective and efficient operation. The
planning team ensures activities from all functions (e.g., Drilling, Projects, and
Subsurface) are fully integrated and deliverable within the constraints of any specific
operation. Key activities include maintenance planning, preventive maintenance planning,
well services planning, and projects planning to ensure new projects are integrated
seamlessly into ongoing site operations. Roles include Planning Managers, Planning
Team Leaders, Schedulers, and Planning Systems and Tools Coordinators.
Reliability and Maintenance
At BP, we’re looking for a range of reliability and maintenance professionals. Our
Reliability Engineers identify and manage asset reliability risks that could adversely
affect plant or business operations. Maintenance roles include engineers and team
leaders. To ensure reliable delivery of daily maintenance activity, you could get
involved in developing and improving work methods, developing maintenance procedures
with technical documentation and developing maintenance spare programmes for critical
equipment. Your goals would include loss elimination, risk management, and life-cycle
management associated with total cost of ownership principles.
We have opportunities for experienced operations professionals at our facilities
around the world, including Alaska, Angola, Australia, Azerbaijan, Canada, Gulf
of Mexico, Indonesia, North Africa, North Sea, Middle East, Russia, Trinidad, United
Kingdom, United States and at our Technology Centres in Houston and London.
