Wider reach and a global outlook

As an IT professional you could be working on projects in Upstream, Refining & Marketing, Trading or in a central function like Finance or HR. IT&S forges strong partnerships across every part of BP and our teams pioneer new ways to solve problems by finding and applying the best digital technologies. We need people with the skills to take on some of the most challenging environments in the world.

To join FLP in IT&S, you should combine an undergraduate degree in IT or a related field, like software engineering, with a relevant post-graduate degree, such as an MSc. You’ll also have relevant professional experience and a track record of achieving results in a commercial environment.

In return, we’ll give you greater responsibility and more opportunities to expand your intellect and develop your skills. When you join FLP, you’ll rotate through at least two different roles with the opportunity to participate in stretch projects outside of these roles. You’ll get exposure to senior leaders and different parts of the business and you’ll also get an internal mentor and other BP networks to support your career development.

Architecture & Design

Our Architecture & Design IT&S profession offers exciting challenges in a face paced environment. Operating in our UK locations, you will play an integral part in defining the design of our structures, providing IT solutions to business problems within our Enterprise Systems segment. You will be at the forefront of shaping our strategic architecture and design principles, working on bespoke global projects.

Business Analysis and Consulting

Based out of our global offices in Malaysia, South Africa, US or the UK, you will be involved in identifying and analysing the needs of our business. Working in the Refining & Marketing, Upstream, Trading or Enterprise Systems IT business areas, you will be dedicated to understanding our organisation’s purpose, operations and goals, translating these to match our technology requirements. You will be integral in shaping transformation in IT&S.

Service Delivery

The Service Delivery IT&S profession provides key support to our infrastructure. Operating in our US, UK or Malaysia offices, you will be joining impressive service delivery teams in our Refining & Marketing, Upstream and Global Infrastructure and Operations IT business areas. You will be involved in managing and delivering infrastructure, data and application services. You will be pivotal in driving strategy and planning for new services to meet the needs of our business.

Project, Programme & Portfolio Management

Our Project Programme & Portfolio Management profession ensures quality in our project planning. You will be a critical interface between IT and our growing business, driving process and capability development. Working in our US or UK offices, including opportunities in Refining & Marketing, Upstream and Global Infrastructure and Operation IT business areas, you will be at the forefront of managing and delivering the portfolio of projects with the right resources, connecting with key stakeholders in our business on a global level.

Information Security

Using the best information security technologies, our Information Security profession is committed to enhancing the security of data in our business. Operating in our US or UK offices, in Upstream or Strategy, Operations and Excellence IT business areas, you will work with talented teams to develop security capabilities. You will review and govern our current information systems and networks, focusing on improving and making a difference to our business in this critical area.

Chief Technology Office

BP’s Chief Technology Office (CTO) is the focal point for introducing new digital technology into BP. We create tangible business value by bringing in and adapting new digital technologies to meet business needs. So whether it’s supporting exploration or identifying opportunities to enhance refining or logistics, CTO is at the forefront of BP’s digital innovation. Operating in our US office, you will work on a wide variety of projects that will challenge you analytically and creatively. You’ll have the opportunity to use your business skills to identify, scope and implement game changing technologies that will help drive BP’s competitive advantage.
