BP exhibition opened in Norwegian Petroleum Museum

The interactive exhibition "New Technology - new life" was opened by the Mayor of Stavanger Leif Johan Sevland in the BP exhibition opened in Norwegian Petroleum Museum.
"BP is a great contributor to Stavanger and to the Norwegian Continental Shelf", said Leif Johan Sevland in his opening speech.

Rebecca Wiles, Managing Director of BP in Norway highlighted the importance of educating the general public about our industry and mentioned that BP has a significant global engagement within school and education. She said, "We are pleased to be present at the Norwegian Petroleum Museum. I will certainly bring my guests from Aberdeen and London to the museum".

The exhibition displays the technologies BP employ on Ula and Valhall to increase the recovery rate by using interactive models for subsidence on Valhall and gas/water injection on Ula, touch screens, films, peepholes with information and big units for field presentations. A cross section of the power cable and the fibre cable, as well as core samples, seismic images, seismic cable with sensors, and much more is available at the exhibition.

The Skarv development is presented by models of the vessel, turret and interactive touch screens and interactive messages.

In addition various occupations in BP are presented with employees in BP Norway informing about their background and work. The themes HSE, Technology, BP in Norway and the BP Group are also properly presented. "We have emphasized using a demotic language, which makes it easy to understand for the general public", says Jan Erik Geirmo, Project Manager for the exhibition.

The purpose of the exhibition is to inform the public about BP's activities in Norway with a special focus on the technologies we use. This includes facts on increased recovery and extended field life due to new technologies. The exhibition will be at the Norwegian Petroleum Museum in Stavanger for one year.
