Naming Ceremony for BP LNG carrier

On May 15th 2008, the naming ceremony of the latest BP fleet Gem Class LNG carrier, the British Ruby was held at the Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI) shipyard. It was attended by Madame Sponsor Diane Malone and Mr Bob Malone, Chairman of BP America, Mr. David Baldry, Group Vice-president and Sungdo Gong, Head of Country in BP Korea, and senior HHI representatives. On the previous day, BP hosted the pre-naming dinner in Chosun hotel in Busan.
British Ruby is the second LNG carrier delivered among 4 Gem LNG carriers built or being built in HHI . The first one named British Emerald was delivered in 2007.
