Associate
An entity, including an unincorporated entity such as a partnership, over which the group has a significant influence and that is neither a subsidiary or a joint venture. Significant influence is the power to participate in the financial and operating policy decisions of an entity but is not control or joint control over those policies.
Associated Companies
This term includes associates and jointly controlled entities, both of which are accounted for using the equity method of accounting.
