AE Ventures
AE Ventures is the strategic corporate venture capital arm of BP Alternative Energy.
The team is focusing on three investment activities: investing in highly innovative cleantech companies and funds; investing in next generation carbon offsets; incubating proprietary cleantech R&D.
The team was set-up in 2006 and has since invested around $100m in 20 different cleantech and carbon ventures and funds. The aim is to invest a total of $150-200m by 2013.
AE Ventures’ investment focus is on early and growth stage companies across the world. AE Ventures is seeking to build both strategic and financial value.
The team includes 12 venture professionals based in UK, US, China and India, combining a unique mix of technical, investment and strategic cleantech specialists. AE Ventures has advantaged access to leading technical and energy market expertise across BP, and its strategic business and university partners across the globe.
