The Learning Centre
The Learning Centre opened in Houston in early 2010. This state-of-the-art facility serves as a flagship for delivering training to employees around the world, both physically and virtually. The centre hosts innovative training facilities such as online based classrooms, Telepresence, and an audio-visual control room and editing studio. Additional training hubs are being planned, the first being in Sunbury, UK, at BP's International Centre for Business and Technology.
University links
BP has a long-track record of investment in research and technology, and has for many years collaborated with scientists, academics, business partners and others to tackle energy challenges. In today's energy industry, where new challenges abound, collaboration between partner organisations has become highly sophisticated. An integral part of BP's approach has been the establishment and funding of a co-ordinated programme of research activities in premier universities around the world. The programmes, which have been operating for more than a decade, form an essential part of our technology research and development work, focused on tackling the long-term energy challenges we face.
