Transportation and trade
The VLCC loading capability of the Ceyhan terminal means that Azeri is readily marketable to customers in North and South America, Canada, North West Europe and the Pacific Rim in addition to the core marketing base in the Mediterranean region.
Facilities at Ceyhan allow for the loading of 320,000 DWT tankers. The minimum vessel size is 80,000 DWT with the minimum cargo size 600 kbbls.
The Ceyhan Terminal uses BP Shipping’s Marine Assurance processes to compulsorily screen vessels prior to them calling at the terminal. These standards include, but are not limited to, vessels being double hulled, conforming to the latest OCIMF recommendations and having a Vapour Emission Control System (VECS) certified by an international certification body.
The crude oil from the BTC pipeline is marketed under the name of Azeri.
