BP investment in Townsville helps Queensland grow
Townsville has become a critical link
Queensland Premier Anna Bligh has officially launched the development of a new multi million dollar BP Bitumen import facility located at the Port of Townsville.
The new facility, which is capable of supplying 120,000 tonnes of bitumen each year and includes a purpose-built polymer modified bitumen manufacturing plant will meet the massive increase in demand for bitumen from current and future road infrastructure projects in Queensland.
This investment represents a continuing commitment by BP to support Queensland's road construction and maintenance industry and growth of its economy.
