BP in the Philippines
With a young, continuously growing and skilled population, untapped natural resources, and steadily growing economy, the “Pearl in the Pacific” is ready to be discovered
What we do
The Philippines is an archipelago composed of more than 7,000 islands spread over 300,000 square kilometers in the western Pacific Ocean. That is almost the size of Italy, but with a coastline that’s double than that of the US. This island nation, home to a young and growing population of more than 100 million people, has also been a home to BP since 1986.BP came with various interests in Lubricants (Auto, Commercial, ILS, Marine), Chemicals, Solar Energy, Gas & Power, offshore exploration, and polyethylene plant. But after corporate simplification, today our presence is very focused on Castrol Lubricants (Auto, Commercial, ILS, Marine), while there has been some efforts to develop Gas & Power businesses.
Our work primarily revolves around Marketing & Distribution of Castrol Lubricants through a network of more than 20 Distributors nationwide. We import bulk of our finish products from Malaysia and sell them through various channels such as OEM, Franchise Workshops/Independent Workshops, Auto & Motorcycle Spare Parts, and various Retail trade outlets.
Our people and partners
Castrol Philippines, Inc. office is based in Makati City, with a representative office in Mandaue City, Cebu to cater to our Visayas & Mindanao team. We are a very lean organization with a complement of 42 permanent employees, and 8 contractual staff.Community investment
The Philippines is in the “ring of fire” and is ranked 3rd in the world as a major hotspot for natural calamities like typhoons and earthquakes. It is hit by an average of 20 typhoons every year, creating destructions to life and properties. As a responsible Corporate citizen, the BP Foundation, through CPI and Gawad Kalinga (an NGO), has built a village to house 40 families who were victims of the worst flooding in Metro Manila. BPF also donated to the Philippine National Red Cross and a provincial chapter that was severely hit by flooding, to build them houses and rebuild their lives. With the initiative of CPI employees and the help of other countries, we were able to provide basic goods and cash assistance to employees (both CPI and Distributors) who were affected by these calamities.
