BP in Poland
In Poland we’ve been busy making a lot happen in a small amount of time
What we do
BP Polska has only been operating since 1991 but already we have a network of over 370 service stations, making us the biggest foreign oil company with its service stations. Thanks to our bottling plants in Swarzędz, Sławków and Sąpolno we've built up our LPG business to become the country's second largest supplier.
We also supply a wide range of lubricants under the BP, Aral and Castrol brands.
Our people and partners
With our headquarters in Kraków, office in Warsaw and plants in three other locations, we employ over 3,000 people in Poland.Community investment
BP Polska's care and attention for the environment starts at the pumps. We exclusively retail unleaded fuel and we're the first company in Poland to do so. Our stations have ecological car wash facilities and any other ecological solutions including BP Ultimate fuels offer.Because of our commitment to caring for the society, we were named Benefactor of the Year, which is one of the most trustworthy awards in Poland, twice in 1999 (thanks to the Clean Business project) and in 2003 (thanks to the Fields of Hope and Puppet projects) by the Academy of Philanthropy, Green office certificate for the first company in Poland in 2005, Gender Index 2007 – equal treatment of men and women.
Supporting places of education is also important to us. Receivers of our donations include Tischner European University, Sapere Auso Foundation, University of Łódź and University of Economics in Kraków. We also support business school seminars, European studies and education for sustainable development. One of the best educational projects is the Future Academy of Spring Association for pupils who have needed help in learning. BP is a main partner of this programme.
We have been giving long-term support to the St. Lazarus Hospice in Nowa Huta. And we have started a programme with Polish Humanitarian Action to supply hundreds of thousands of meals to underprivileged children in schools.
