BP Asphalt launches new rail safety program
The program kit contains a 10-minute informational DVD, reference wall charts and bad order tags that can be affixed to the rail cars denoting a particular problem(s) with the rail car.
“At BP, we are proud to take the lead in rail safety for the asphalt industry,” said Sue Hayden, Asphalt Manager. “We want to keep the railways safe and we feel that the operators are the vital link in achieving that goal.”
The U.S. BP Asphalt business is based in Chicago near the Whiting Refinery. Whiting is one of the largest asphalt producing refineries in the world, and serves as the primary source for most BP asphalt sales in the U.S. through truck, rail and barge.
In addition, BP Asphalt has a network of terminals providing convenient collection points for our customers. The BP network of terminals is located in: Bay City, MI, Bartlett, IL, and South Bend, IN
