Exploration in Norway
BP Norge has in past years drilled a number of exploration wells on the Norwegian continental shelf. The number of licences varies depending on swaps, sales and returns.
Our aim is to achieve a rapid mapping of potential resources in any blocks awarded. BP is co-owner in 11 licenses on the Norwegian Continental Shelf, and operator of all.
An exploration well was drilled in the Snadd Outer prospect during 2012, and proved gas. BP participate in the 22nd license round. Awards are expected around mid 2013.
