Environmental policy

Wiriagar village
Our project is committed to working toward the goals of no harm to people, no accidents and no damage to the environment. For all employees, contractors, and suppliers, we set clear environmental goals
Operating in Indonesia involves working in areas rich in biodiversity and of unique environmental significance. Here, just as we do wherever we operate in the world, BP makes environmental protection a personal as well as a corporate responsibility. Everyone working for, or with BP in Indonesia, does so with a set of published environmental goals in mind. These reinforce our commitment to:
  • integrate responsible environmental management into all project phases
  • frame our actions to support sustainable development, biodiversity conservation, the prevention of pollution and the reduction of waste generation
  • develop waste management strategies achieve best practice in the reduction, reuse, recycling and disposal of waste
  • forge stakeholder partnerships built on trust, respect and mutual goals
  • develop and maintain communication channels that empower stakeholders and incorporate feedback
  • serve as a catalyst for conservation-related capacity building throughout Indonesia and specifically in Papua
Support continuous improvement by setting targets and measuring performance
