BP first to drill a deep water well in the Norwegian Sea (Luva)- made a gas discovery.

Three deep-water licenses awarded to BP in the 15th license round.
Dragen platform
1993
Partner operated Draugen started production.
Two operationships and shares in four blocks in 14th license round.

1991
First company to re-inject drilling cuttings into the subsurface
Gyda platform
1990
Gyda started production.
Forus office extended.

1987
The Storting (Parliament) approved development of the Gyda field.

BP moves into new building at Forus, Stavanger.
Ula started production.
BP performed seismic surveys on Svalbard.

1980
Gyda discovered.
Ula development approved by Storting (Parliament).
1976
Downstream business sold to the Norwegian State.
Ula discovered in block 7/12.

Exploration office set up in Stavanger
Farmed into block 7/12 and 2/1 from Conoco

1920
BP established in Norway through Norsk Brændselsolje.
