A message from President, Walter V. Hadley:
It was agreed that 2006 (and perhaps years to come) meetings will be held in the Fort Myers or Naples area, because the state attendance has not been very substantial in Orlando. A cruise was also discussed, and Rose Marie, our Treasurer, will follow up on that issue and inform the members accordingly.
We no longer get lists from the company advising us of new retirees, so our only hope for new membership is word of mouth. We lose several members to death each year. There are some members who have sold their home in Florida and moved "North", so membership has declined to about 350.
Asking someone to address 30 people is not something we have pushed for the last 2 years however, it's a fact that speakers enhance our attendence. We welcome the opportunity to have a BP speaker at our meetings. If you are interested in speaking at our group meetings, please contact me, or Rose Marie.
Bill Potter, one of the founders of Stan Am, is very ill at the moment and could use our prayers. He is in Delray Beach in a Rehabilitation Clinic fighting off a severe leg infection. Bill and Betsy (our Secretary) were unable to join us this year because of this situation.
