Metaxylene uses range from surf boards to outboard motors to soda bottles
Metaxylene is a feedstock for the manufacture of purified isophthalic acid (PIA), an intermediate for higher quality unsaturated polyesters and a modifier for PET (polyethylene terephthalate) resins. It is separated from the mixed xylene stream that results from the refining of crude oil.
