Targetneutral - Cutting vehicle CO2 emissions

targetneutral flash image
Targetneutral is a non-profit making programme that gives drivers a simple, practical way to make their own, personal contribution to reducing, replacing and neutralising‚ the harmful CO2 emissions their driving produces

About targetneutral

The targetneutral programme is another example of BP’s long-term strategy of finding new and better ways to minimise the impact of road transport fuels on the environment and contribute to the solution of climate change.

Targetneutral now operates in 6 countries across Europe and has sourced Voluntary Emissions Reductions (VERs) from another 8 countries to date.

Join the targetneutral programme

By logging on to www.targetneutral.com, drivers can calculate how much CO2 their car emits, find out how to reduce that figure and also learn more about global projects to minimise CO2. It is easy to participate, and involves a cash contribution to the programme, usually around £20 per year, depending on your vehicle, mileage and fuel consumption.

How does targetneutral work?

In most countries BP will also make a cash contribution, for every litre of BP fuel purchased (excluding fuel card purchases), by targetneutral members using loyalty cards. All of BP’s UK fuel tankers and all company cars in Austria, Switzerland and France neutralise their emissions from driving through targetneutral.

All the money raised, barring VAT, card transaction fees and membership pack fees, goes towards independently verified emissions reductions projects that reduce or avoid CO2 being released into the atmosphere to offset CO2 emissions produced from targetneutral members driving emissions.

The scheme is monitored and guided by an independent Advisory and Assurance Panel chaired by Sir Jonathon Porritt . Targetneutral gives drivers an easy, affordable way to play their part in balancing the equation.

Please contribute to the solution of climate change by joining targetneutral.
