Jakarta
The Indonesian capital city is the location of BP’s office headquarters at Perkantoran Hijau Arkadia. Our employees based in Jakarta are running coordination and supporting activities for our site in Papua Barat. This office base is also shared by our Castrol oil business.The supporting activities include all financial, legal, human resources, appraisal and other commercial activities.
Papua Barat
The Tangguh LNG project is located in the Bintuni Bay of the bird’s head area of Papua Barat. From Jakarta, it takes around seven hours by plane to reach the site. Tangguh LNG is the centerpiece of BP’s presence in Indonesia. The first gas delivery was conducted in mid-2009, and people in the field are working hard to operate Indonesia’s third LNG center.Besides the LNG operations, our main activity in Papua is also to engage with local people and build relationship with all our local stakeholders. Constant engagement with local people to find suitable measures to ensure ongoing development – as well as to minimize social and environment risks – will remain an integral part of the Tangguh LNG project.
