Mondo
Mondo is a new medium gravity, moderate acidity, sweet crude from Angola’s deepwater block 15. Mondo will be the fourth deepwater production hub in the block which also contains Hungo, Kissanje and Xikomba.
The Mondo field lies to the East of Hungo, North of the other two fields in the Kizomba C project - Saxi and Batuque.
The Angolan deep water region is proving to be a world class hydrocarbon basin. Considerable success has been achieved in the deepwater blocks 15 and 17 and also in block 18 where BP is the operator. BP additionally operates the ultra-deepwater Block 31 which at the time of publishing has yielded fourteen exploration successes.
Mondo is owned through a production sharing agreement between Sonangol (the Angolan state owned oil company) and a contractor group consisting of ExxonMobil (40% equity), BP (26.67% equity), Eni (20% equity) and Statoil (13.33% equity).
