Supporting UK education
Inspiring young people
Our UK education programme has one clear aim: to inspire young people
We do this by working closely with teachers and young people to enhance their awareness, knowledge and skills in areas such as energy, the environment and business leadership. We want to excite them about the possibilities of science, technology and business, whether that’s in the classroom or in the workplace.
We feel we have a responsibility to help develop strong, sustainable societies. This was the founding principle of our UK education programme, which started back in 1968, and it continues to drive us today.
What started simply as a resource for teachers is now a comprehensive programme that contributes to every area of education in the UK, including early stage, primary, secondary, tertiary and vocational.
In the long term, we hope to inspire future generations of scientists and engineers by creating a better understanding of the oil and gas industry and the exciting career opportunities.
This site provides more information about the various ways in which we support science and technology education in the UK, particularly for young people aged between 5-19 years.
