At BP we define sustainability as the capacity to endure as a group: by renewing assets; creating and delivering better products and services that meet the evolving needs of society; attracting successive generations of employees; contributing to a sustainable environment; and retaining the trust and support of our customers, shareholders and the communities in which we operate.
This report is aimed at our shareholders, employees, government and joint venture partners, academics and NGOs – and other parties or individuals with a working interest in the company.

- Aimed at more specialist audiences, including academics, investors and non-governmental organizations.
- Aimed at all those with an interest in BP’s sustainability performance.
- Available in English, Mandarin Chinese, Spanish and Russian.
Environment and society website
- The BP Sustainability Review 2008 is supported by the Environment and Society section of the bp.com website. The website contains expanded information on our approach to sustainability, environmental and social issues.
- Aimed at all audiences, with health, safety and environment tools and detailed performance data provided for specialist audiences.
