No damage to the environment
Effective spill prevention is critical to BP Marine’s environmental performance. Our aim is zero spills. A full spill prevention programme forms part of our global Assurance process, which includes training, pre-delivery inspections and full assessments throughout our global network.
In order to continually improve our performance we work with our contractors
and customers to report all spills or near misses, no matter how small, which
are then investigated and analysed to prevent recurrence. We focus on root
causes to ensure corrective actions and preventive measures are utilised to
reduce and eliminate future incidents.

BP Marine is a key contributor to a number of oil spill response organisations and co-operatives such as:- Oil Spill Response Limited in Southampton UK
- East Asia Response Ltd in Singapore
- The Clean Caribbean Co-operative in Fort Lauderdale US
- Marine Spill Response Corporation of the US.
These organisations together offer a 24 hour global response and centre of
expertise and have responded to a number of major incidents world-wide.
