Refinery capacities
Global refinery crude runs increased by 1.8 million b/d or 2.4%
Net capacity in North America grew by a combined 373 Kb/d, with similar increases recorded in each of Canada, Mexico and the US, and the Middle East (mainly Iraq) saw capacity growth of 125 Kb/d and 88 Kb/d respectively. Elsewhere, capacity increases in Russia more than offset reductions in Europe and S & C America.
Methodology
The refinery capacity data presented in this Review represents the sum of reported atmospheric crude distillation and condensate splitting capacity.
Capacity should comprise the amount of input that a distillation facility can process under usual operating conditions, taking into account scheduled downtime.
Figures are in thousand barrels per calendar day ie the capacity taking into account normal scheduled downtime.
