Government claims
BP established a dedicated process for managing claims and funding requests for losses and/or expenses incurred by states, parishes, counties, federally recognized Indian tribes and other government entities and political subdivisions.
All government claims and funding requests are handled by a specialized team within BP. Through April 30, 2013, BP has paid more than $1.4 billion for claims, advances and settlements with government entities.
