When someone has an accident at the workplace and he/she has to stay at home for more than one day, we speak of a 'Days away from work case' (DAFW)
These safety statistics apply to both BP staff and staff members of contracting companies, the so-called contractors
Annual number of DAFW (absolute figures)
Frequency annual number of DAFW (Relative numbers)
These are relative figures, i.e. the number of accidents per million hours of exposure. Relative figures or frequency rate take into account the so-called exposure. This exposure is related to the number of working hours in a specific year.
