Air BP adds Essendon Airport, Melbourne to the network

In July we added Essendon Airport (MEB/YMEN) in Melbourne to our market-leading Australian network. Essendon Airport recently identified BP as the ‘best partner to safely deliver improved service and price to operators at Essendon.’

Our new aviation fuel depot, the airport’s second, houses two 110,000 litre storage tanks of Jet A-1 fuel and is supported by two new CL17,000 litre fuel trucks. The fuel trucks can deliver fuel to anywhere on the airport and with direct airside access, it offers easier and quicker refuelling for customers.
Commenting, Alan Wilson, Managing Director, Air BP Asia Pacific said: “We see this investment at Essendon Fields as a logical progression of our strategy to grow our already substantial network of aviation fuel locations throughout Australia and around the globe. Air BP provides industry leading supply security and product quality assurance so that those flying to Melbourne can fuel with confidence.”
Chris Cowan, CEO Essendon Fields, added: “In the past some aviation operators may have chosen not to refuel at Essendon Airport due to a lack of an alternative fuel facility. That situation is now rectified with the construction of the new depot. We also have a vision of future growth in aviation services at Essendon Airport in particular for emergency services, regional airlines and corporate jets. Air BP shares our exciting vision for the future,’’
