We are committed to working alongside our partners in achieving a lower-carbon future and as you may recall in 2016 we invested in Fulcrum BioEnergy. May marked a significant milestone in our investment, as construction began on Fulcrum’s Sierra BioFuels Plant in Nevada, with commercial operations due to begin in the first quarter of 2020. The aim? To convert around 175,000 tons of household garbage into more than 10.5 million gallons of fuel each year. Once up and running the facility will reduce greenhouse gas emissions by more than 80%. It’s an impressive target and one we’re proud to be contributing to.
