We’ve certainly had a busy few months expanding our global network with 11 new locations across Africa, Australia, Russia and the UK. Our six new locations in Africa can be found in Morocco, Mauritius, Ivory Coast and Cape Verde. Meanwhile in Australia we now have operations at both Bundaberg and Busselton. Two of the most recent additions to our network are Krasnoyarsk and Vladivostok in Russia, as well as Humberside in the UK.
We are delighted to have collaborated with Vivo Energy to grow our network in Africa. The six new locations include Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport (MRU/ FIMP) in Mauritius, Abidjan-Felix-Houphouet-Boigny International Airport (ABJ/ DIAP) in Ivory Coast, Nelson Mandela International Airport (RAI/ GVNP) and Sal International Airport (SID/ GVAC) in Cape Verde, and Agadir-Al Massira Airport (AGA/ GMAD) as well as Marrakesh-Menara Airport (RAK/GMMX) in Morocco. Thanks to these latest additions, we now provide fuel at 40 locations in Africa. It’s an exciting market for us with huge potential for both business and commercial aviation. So, we’re looking forward to expanding our network throughout the continent even further.
The two new additions of Bundaberg (BDB/ YBUD) and Busselton (BQB/ YBLN) mean we now provide refuelling services at 76 airports across Australia. Following demand from our customers including Virgin Australia and Qantaslink, we have also added Jet A-1 at Cloncurry (CNJ/ YCCY). All three airports offer great facilities with expansion plans underway at both Bundaberg and Busselton. We’ve recently invested in two new 110,000 litre jet fuel tanks at Busselton. And as Bundaberg, is the operational hub of the renowned Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS), we are delighted to be sponsoring the ongoing operation of this invaluable service.
The 21st FIFA World Cup wasn’t the only reason we were celebrating (or in some instances commiserating) in Russia throughout June and July. We also welcomed Vladivostok International Airport (VVO/ UHWW) to our network. The gateway to the unofficial capital of the Russian Far East, the airport is this year celebrating its 10th anniversary. Highlights of Vladivostok include a quick turnaround service, aircraft maintenance facilities and VIP catering. Earlier this month Krasnoyarsk International Airport (KJA/ UNKL) also joined our portfolio, meaning customers can now refuel at nine airports in Russia. It’s an exciting new location for business and general aviation customers as the airport has recently had a very modern makeover. It now offers a fast and efficient check-in process as well as a dedicated terminal for general aviation passengers.
A gateway to North Lincolnshire in the UK, Humberside International Airport (HUY/ EGNJ is one of the latest airports in the UK to be added to our network. Passengers flying to or from here can make the most of Weston aviation’s, recently expanded FBO facility at the airport. In addition to separate crew and passenger lounges, there’s VIP ground handling services, fast track customs and security and executive catering. While Blackbushe Airport (BBS/ EGLK) in the UK isn’t a new location for us – in fact it’s been part of our network since 2012 – we were delighted to renew our contract at the general aviation hub back in July. Located on the borders of Hampshire, Berkshire and Surrey, this is a great London alternative. Plus, helicopter pilots are well catered for here, as Blackbushe introduced Rotors Running Refuelling in 2017, to enable more efficient fuelling for helicopters.
