As a result of our collaboration with Neste – the leading renewable fuel producer from wastes and residues – we have now entered into an agreement to deliver sustainable aviation fuel to airline and airport customers in Sweden in 2019.
Produced from non-palm renewable and sustainable raw materials, Neste’s sustainable aviation fuel has already proven its technical capability in thousands of commercial flights. What’s more, it can reduce up to 80% of greenhouse gas emissions over its life-cycle compared to conventional jet fuel.
Although we have been supplying sustainable aviation fuel in the Nordics since 2014 at around 10 airports, we officially announced plans to work alongside Neste in exploring and developing supply chain solutions for delivering sustainable low-carbon aviation fuel in 2018.
Jon Platt, Air BP’s CEO referenced how this latest development in our agreement with Neste underpins our commitment: “To supporting our customers as they work towards reducing their emissions and realising their low carbon ambitions.”
It’s an exciting milestone in our low carbon journey and we are looking forward to continuing our investment in developing and delivering sustainable aviation fuel to a wider market.
