Air BP continues Middle Eastern growth

We are delighted to have marked 85 years of operations in the Middle East with an exciting new contract to fuel the first two Cirrus SR22 G6 training aircraft delivered to Dubai-based Emirates Flight Training Academy, which was inaugurated this month.
Air BP currently markets and sells fuel at 21 locations throughout the region, including eight locations in the UAE. This includes our into-plane operation at Dubai International Airport (DXB/OMDB), where we have been operating for over 50 years.
In July, we took over operatorship of the Dubai Airport Joint Industry Fuel Farm (JIFF), contributing to Dubai Airports’ safety agenda and championing the airport’s safety marathon programme to help manage airside risks.
Furthermore, Air BP continues to invest in equipment and strategic infrastructure through its joint ventures in the region. For example, the recent investment of approximately $23 million by our parent company BP and its partners to upgrade the storage facilities at Dubai International and Sharjah Airport (SHJ/OMSJ) have greatly improved the resilience of the locations.

Air BP starts supplying Emirates in Brazil

In related news, we have recently started supplying fuel to Emirates Airline at São Paulo Guarulhos International (GRU/SBGR) and Viracopos Campinas International (VCP/SBKP) airports in Brazil. This is in addition to the existing Air BP operation at Rio de Janeiro International. The first Air BP-fuelled Emirates flight, on an Airbus A380, departed from São Paulo Guarulhos International Airport bound for Dubai International on 3 November 2017.
