It’s going to be an exciting couple of months ahead for sporting events in the UK, with the Ashes cricket series and the British Grand Prix all taking place at various locations throughout the country.
If you’re attending the Ashes Test series (various dates throughout August and September) at the Oval Cricket Ground or Lord’s in London, then London Biggin Hill (BQH/ EGKB) is a great base to fly in and out of. The only dedicated business aviation airport actually in the UK capital, Biggin Hill is just 12 miles from central London and offers a six-minute helicopter transfer to the London Heliport.
Meanwhile for the Ashes test series taking place at the Old Trafford in Manchester (MAN/ EGCC), Edgbaston in Birmingham (BHX/ EGBB), or Headingley in Leeds (LBA/ EGNM), then all three airports are popular locations on our network. At both Manchester and Birmingham, Signature Flight Support offers a full range of FBO services to cater for private and general aviation customers.
For the British Grand Prix, which will take place on 14 July at Silverstone, both Birmingham and Luton Airport (LTN/ EGGW) are equidistant from the historic race track. This year’s race is set to be an exciting event as having taken the controversial Canadian Grand Prix victory, Lewis Hamilton is due to return to the British racing track this month.
