Location Focus: Magdeburg Airport

Little-known Magdeburg is something of an up-and-coming cultural hotspot in East Germany. One of the greenest cities in Europe – bound to be beautiful in Autumn when the leaves are turning – it’s also home to Germany’s oldest gothic cathedral, where Emperor Otto I was buried.
Located under six kilometres from the city centre, Magdeburg Airport (/ZMG/EDBM) has been a Sterling Card location since 2009. It benefits from two runways, one asphalt (1000m x 30m) and one grass (700m x 30m) and offers Avgas and Jet-A1, both of which are available either from the operator or through Air BP’s self-service facilities.

The airport features a dedicated area for relaxation pre-flight, car-sharing and bike rental availability, and finally, an aircraft workshop for maintenance of aircraft weighing up to 5700KG.
