We had a very busy month in September. We were delighted to attend the 100th anniversary celebrations for Lübeck Airport (LBC/EDHL) during 2-3 September. Claus Moller, our operations integrity manager Central Europe; and Jean Mousa, general aviation sales manager Central Europe, attended the event on behalf of Air BP. Aircraft on display ranged from an Antonov AN-2 to a Douglas DC-3, which was offering round trips to passengers as part of the public event. Air BP is proud to be a fuel supplier at Lübeck, which was established in August 1917.
We also visited the 2017 Czech International Air Fest (CIAF) at Hradec Králové Airport (LKHK), which was attended by approximately 60,000 visitors. Now in its 24th year, CIAF is the biggest air show in the Czech Republic, featuring aerobatic displays from the likes of the Baltic Bees Jet Team. As part of the event, Air BP and LOTOS-Air BP, presented the Red White Wings Foundation with an Air BP Sterling Card.
We welcomed over 45 customers from 23 countries to our 15th Technical Services Conference at our Sunbury, UK headquarters during 18-21 September. It was our biggest conference to date and as always generated lots of lively discussion. We updated customers on our latest technical developments and innovations sharing new initiatives to help them protect their operations and manage their risk.
We were pleased to be Gold Sponsors again at the second Air Charter Expo, known as ACE last month at Biggin Hill Airport (BQH/EGKB) in the UK. The event attracted a record 800 delegates, 80 exhibitors and 20 aircraft on the static display. It was a really upbeat event as brokers, owners, operators and suppliers enjoyed the opportunity to get together in the UK and talk business aviation.
Finally, from 20-21 September we attended the European Business Aviation Association’s (EBAA) second annual Air Ops Europe event. The show took place at Cannes Mandelieu Airport (CEQ/LFMD), a Sterling Card acceptance location. We thoroughly enjoyed promoting the value of our network, which is made up of 400 locations in Europe and 800 worldwide, as well as RocketRoute, at the show.
This month we are looking forward to exhibiting at the NBAA-BACE Conference in Las Vegas, October 10-12. We will also be hosting a customer appreciation cocktail reception at our stand (C10835) from 4pm-6pm on 10 October. If you’re a fan of the Red Bull Air Race, be sure to visit us as we welcome Red Bull Air Race Challenger Cup pilot, Kevin Coleman, for a special Q&A session ahead of the Red Bull Air Race season finale at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway during 14-15 October. Visitors to our stand will also have the chance to compete in the Red Bull Air Race Mobile Game 2 to win a fabulous Hamilton watch or a Red Bull Air Race cap.
