Sterling Pilot scholar wins Hilda Hewett Trophy

2016 Sterling Pilot Scholarship recipient Zoe Burnett has won the Hilda Hewlett Trophy at the British Women Pilot’s Association’s 2017 awards.

The Hilda Hewlett Trophy is awarded to a British female pilot between the ages of 16 and 25 who has shown initiative and commitment in gaining her PPL and who is an inspiration to her peer group.
18-year-old-old Zoe completed her PPL with Tayside Aviation at Dundee Airport in Scotland after receiving Air BP’s second Sterling Pilot Scholarship – worth £10,000 – last July.
Zoe, who is now studying with FTE Jerez before beginning a career with Flybe, commented, “Air BP’s Sterling Pilot Scholarship allowed me to take the first step towards becoming a pilot. I’m still really enjoying learning to fly and I can’t wait to see where my career takes me!”
Air BP worked with the Honourable Company of Air Pilots to organise the Air BP Sterling Pilot Scholarship, which was launched in January 2015.
