Hot on the heels of our collaboration with Teruel Airport last month, we’re also collaborating with São Paulo-based Avantto Aircraft Administration to offset carbon emissions from the use of aviation fuel in the business aviation sector.
As part of Avantto’s commitment to a lower carbon future, carbon emissions from the use of jet aviation fuel for the next 12 months will be offset via BP Target Neutral. BP’s well-established programme works by investing in carbon reduction projects around the world.
Concerns about sustainability are at the heart of both our and Avantto’s business model. So, we’re really pleased to be working alongside them in our first carbon offsetting scheme for business aviation customers in Brazil.
The scheme is set to run for one year initially from 1 June. It complements our into-plane fuelling operations at 250 directly operated locations that were certified carbon neutral in 2016. This includes a number of locations in Brazil such as Sao Paulo Guarulhos (GRU/SBGR) and Rio de Janeiro Galeao (GIG/SBGL) international airports.
