Striving for More: Fahri’s story

Knowing his work is valuable and making an impact on the business is what Fahri finds rewarding. Having the ability to help the people who have helped him is what motivates Fahri to Keep Advancing

A curious and devoted individual, Fahri was drawn to BP because of its reputation of excellence in the industry. He believes he shares many values with BP, and finds it to be an environment he is able to succeed in.

“BP grants me with the conditions to deliver my best performance, namely I learned that the best way to work with high pressure wells is to work under no pressure.”

Fahri currently works as a Challenger Drilling Engineer, where he is responsible for utilization of engineering, software, writing drilling programs and rig work instructions.

The Challenger program is a structured rotational program which gives recent graduates hands-on experience to gain exposure to real environments and technologies. It includes structured learning, support from mentors and coaching and assessment.

Fahri is currently working on a “project of analysis of loads on liner top packer, which is aimed to prevent packer failure during inflow tests” which he has found to be the most exciting project he has worked on in his time at BP.

He has overcome many obstacles while in the program, which have helped him learn and grow not only in his career - but his personal life.

Starting as a challenger engineer I faced many challenges throughout this year, which helped me not only to become a more experienced engineer, but also to easily handle hardships in my personal life. BP provides you the conditions to deliver your best.

For Fahri, the environment makes BP stand out as an employer, as “BP supports an inclusive environment and it improves performance of each individual. By listening with respect, you can see different perspectives. Standing along with BP values you can have a productive and pleasant life at work, and this is what matters.”
