Job summary

The Analytics Specialist is a critical role to help enable the transformation of our Accounting teams. The role will sit within the Controls and Innovation team within BPX Accounting, Reporting & Control team. The analyst will be engaged in full sets of digital platform data and analytics architecture and directly work with Accounting and Finance personnel to provide thought leadership and support for all aspects of analytics cross the bpx onshore asset portfolios, including data design and architecture, data governance, and data visualization. The analyst will lead the promotion of democratizing analytics to the all levels of users, drive differentiations and create values for business by leveraging technology and influencing in Change Management.

Key Accountabilities

  • Develop all data and analytics requirements and partner with IT for data analysis and modeling
  • Develop descriptive financial KPIs and effective analytics to deliver insights to management and mitigate financial risks
  • Ability to learn cloud-based analytics platform and be the business subject matter expert in integrating reporting platform with ERP system (i.e. SAP)
  • Responsible for developing ad-hoc data analysis
  • Train and collaborate with business in democratizing reporting and analytical tools
  • Collaborate with IT and business to optimize data analysis via technology, data, process and people




Essential Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance/IT

Essential Experience and Job Requirements:
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in leveraging data and analytics to create business value
  • Significant hands-on experience carrying out analytics and visualization in finance and accounting
  • Applied knowledge of data & analytics tools (e.g., business intelligence applications, cloud platforms) and approaches across all data lifecycle stages
  • Experience in using tools such as SAP Analytics Cloud, PowerBI, or other data visualization/analytical tools
  • Experience in SAP
  • Customer-centric and pragmatic mindset. Focus on value delivery and swift execution
  • Strong skills using Microsoft Office products
