Job summary

Responsible for managing a team to explore and develop new business opportunities, managing the successful development of offers, building strong and effective relationships with appropriate partner/supplier contacts and project managing specific elements of strategic projects, whilst exercising a sound combination of commercial and technical rigor to help achieve BP's growth objectives.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Strategy & Planning

In partnership with the business development team, define the compelling charging network development strategy beyond JV to shape and deliver the dedicated charge points target

Monitor external trends/competitor intelligence and best practice in support of refining internal strategy development

Define the objectives, operating model, roadmaps that required to support the network growth

Develop annual CAPEX spending budget plan and resourcing priorities and gaining agreement to meet FM&S AsPac plans and budgets

  • Asset Development & Network Planning

Lead the negotiation and development of charging site assets in selected markets with partners to achieve business investment goals

Pre-empt actions where potential risks arise due to market competition

Identify balance between network expansion at pace and quality of control, incl. meeting with internal investment framework

Work towards both organic and inorganic growth opportunities accelerate pace of delivery

Lead internal project approval process, ensure proper functional assurance and alignment with key partners

  • Partnership Development & Management

Lead complex external relationship development with major landowners in formulating material land access

Hunt for demand partnership or other resources partnership

Handling potential conflicts both within team or with external partnership

  • Core Team Capabilities Development

Establish the ‘central of expertise’ in asset development by identifying and selecting high-quality candidates

Line up supporting engineering and delivery resources to deliver annual site targets

Coach other team members to enhance overall team knowledge

Share standard methodology from other competitors

Strengthen employee alignment, performance and engagement, culture and leadership

Ensure measures are in place to support the health, safety & care for front-end team

Requirements:

Bachelor degree with MBA preferred

Breadth and depth across the charging asset development and network planning areas and able to provide professional advice and act as a coach to others

Developing specific commercial and technical capability and experience in asset strategy development and planning

Ability to effectively partner with other team members, cross-functional team, peers and even successfully influence senior management

Strategic and analytical thinking – comfortable using analytics to identify market movement, competitiveness and influence decision making to help refining internal strategy

Outstanding project management skills to run a pipeline of project to meet time schedule

Excellent negotiation skills, ability to find creative solutions to resolve deadlock

Strong discernment and able to demonstrate leadership in setting out vision and identifying prioritization

Ability to streamline internal strategy and communicate with senior management directly to gain supports

Drives value-adding solutions - driven to create solutions to business problems. Track record of continuous improving/adding value

Externally orientated – actively working on developing external connections, aware of best practice, actively learns from others and maximize values to bp

Ability to set up a new team from scratch by defining strategy, aligning visions, operating models and confirming capabilities

Out-of-box thinking and be able to challenge the system by demonstrating the thinking and value of it

Self-aware and actively seeks input from others on impact and effectiveness

Effective great teammate able to work successfully across interpersonal boundaries

Being able to work under pressure and still drive forward the overall agenda and deliver with quality

Strong planning and organising skills to handle multi-tasks

At least 5+ years’ relevant deep industry experience in asset development, with solid previous case demonstrations
