Job summary

Grade IResponsible for supporting the delivery of business analysis and consulting processes and procedures for the defined specialism using basic technical capabilities, developing working relationships to provide support with queries, issues and ad-hoc requests and assisting with quality assurance services. Specialisms: Business Analysis; Data Management and Data Science; Digital Innovation.

Role Synopsis
The Business Analyst will be a delivery and operations member of the Digital Procurement Portfolio Team, which is a part of the Innovation and Engineering Digital Production & Business Services (DP&BS).

Procurement, as a group function, is currently one year into execution of their One-Procurement Strategy/Roadmap which was developed to bring together the current fragmented procurement organization and processes to enable a common way of working through the right standardized processes, digital products, and solutions.

The DP&BS-Procurement portfolio team is responsible for the business-as-usual operations and digital transformation. The Business Analyst role is responsible for supporting the Product Manager in managing key business critical products and services to operate appropriately for the BP group. It is key that the person in role have a good understanding of service management and can collaborate across bp which will include teams outside of procurement, I&E and most importantly within our businesses.

The successful candidate will also work closely with our disparate Agile Scrum teams in helping them to prioritize their workload, report team progress to our business partners as well as organizing and leading periodic (Sprint on Sprint) product demo.


What will I do?

  • Support the Application Management Service including Incident Management and Improvement within the Service Line, focusing on product maintenance and support.

  • Support Product Manager in leading the DevOps squads, in an efficient manner, continuously improving and delivering at pace for our business.

  • Support Product Manager in leading finances and budget in terms of responsible delivery and operational squads.

  • Supports teams in using relevant agile frameworks, such as Scrum and Kanban

  • Works with Product Owners and Product Manager on planning and maintaining an up-to-date delivery roadmap and product backlog with a clear focus on business value.

  • Supports the management of service outcomes with suppliers who provide developers to augment your team

  • Plans and lead framework upgrades, security patches and other general maintenance for assigned line of products

  • Understand BP guidelines (Digital Security, data privacy), financial frameworks and processes to recommend the right approach for delivering the required solution.



What will I bring?

  • A solid grasp of Software Development and Software Operations along with the concept of DevOps

  • Solid understanding of Agile practices Information Technology degree preferred

  • Desirable Experience and Capability

  • Years of experience: 5 years and above, with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.

  • User-first approach, Understand and appreciate the importance of discovery and user experience design process

  • Have sound understanding of modern software engineering (DevOps; CICD, automation, QA, tooling, etc.)

  • Be confident in running security incident responses

  • Demonstrate agile ways of working (agile ceremonies, backlog prioritization)

  • Implementation or support experience of ERP and SAP products such as Fieldglass and Ariba

  • Conflict resolution - ability to facilitate discussion and the development of alternatives or different approaches

  • Political awareness - Be able to work/collaborate/communicate efficiently with upper management, partners and other external dependencies.

  • Problem solving skills - organizational and analytical skills, and the ability to work round obstacles to get things done

  • Partner/Supplier management – Understanding of key processes and how to get the best from our Partners

  • Have a solid grasp of the procurement business process and procurement digital solutions such as Fieldglass, Ariba, and SAP S/4 Hana.


Desirable Experiences

  • Have worked in an Oil and Gas or New Energy environment.
