Job summary

Responsible for driving and overseeing a broad range of business development activities, including technical and economic evaluation of potential projects based on deep expertise, collaborating with teams to develop optimal development solutions, and project managing a range of strategic projects, exercising a strong combination of commercial and technical rigor to help achieve BP's growth objectives.


Key Accountabilities:

  • Supports the identification of business development opportunities, using technical and economic evaluation and investment appraisal processes.
  • Assists project execution for strategic projects to meet strategic commercial objectives, including support work for negotiations with third parties on commercial, joint venture and M&A transactions.
  • Contributes to the development of offers to deliver value for partnerships, ensuring consistency with established processes.
  • Collaborates with other business segments, seeking opportunities for continuous improvement, and builds upon existing relevant external partner, supplier, and consultant relationships.
  • Complies with BP's Code of Conduct and models BP's Values & Behaviours.
  • Provides analytical support on a range of strategic projects to assist in meeting strategic commercial objectives, using developing technical knowledge of economic evaluation and investment appraisal.
  • Develops and provides cost models for new business planning to assess and provide evidence for the feasibility and probability of success, as required.
  • Contributes to the assessment, research, and design of offers using data analytics, to help deliver value for partnerships in line with established processes.
  • Carries out market research into relevant economic and market trends and business development opportunities to assist senior members of the team in identifying areas for growth.
  • Complies with BP's Code of Conduct and models BP's Values & Behaviours.
  • Assists in driving the identification of business development opportunities using technical and economic evaluation and investment appraisal processes to determine the feasibility and probability of success in target markets.
  • Leads concept design and execution for a variety of strategic projects to meet strategic commercial objectives, including negotiations with potential partners third parties on significant and complex commercial, joint venture and M&A transactions.
  • Manages the development of offers to deliver value for partnerships and creates a framework for offers to ensure sharing of processes across different locations.
  • Drives broad collaboration with other business segments to encourage knowledge-sharing and continuous improvement, and develops and leads relevant external partner, supplier and consultant relationships.
  • Builds the team's capabilities through sharing deep technical expertise in strategic business development, economic evaluation, and investment appraisal, including coordinating informal training for junior members of the team.
  • Complies with BP's Code of Conduct and demonstrates strong leadership through BP's Leadership Expectations and Values & Behaviours.
