Job summary

The Blending Team Leader leads a team of technicians delivering all Pangbourne blending for ALP and AMIP across small scale laboratory scale blends to larger pilot scale blends. Developing and implementing new ways of agile working and digitising processes and data.

The role is accountable for managing the team delivering blending for the product development teams in ALP and AMIP and the management of the blendshop and blending laboratories. This role is accountable for meeting all quality accreditation and safety requirements internally from bp and external bodies and will manage audits across the blending laboratory and blend shop.

The role will be accountable for maintenance of the facility, upgrades and supporting site modernisation activities to ensure any equipment, designs and timings are suitable in order to maintain present operations and facilitate future needs and changes.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Lead health, Safety and quality requirements for Pangbourne blending, laboratory and blend shop
  • Lead all quality audit assessments and actions for the Pangbourne blending team
  • Responsible for leading the move to digital and agile ways of working across the blending team including prioritisation, automation and data management
  • Accountable for defining and delivering against KPIs for the blending team
  • Ensuring the team members are held accountable for their job roles, supporting development of the team and succession planning where relevant
  • Managing the workload across the team with the support of the blending supervisor and ensuring capability resilience across the team to ensure continuous operations.

You must have:
Experience of manufacturing and logistics processes
A track record of building and maintaining relationships and managing stakeholder maps
Experience with operational management systems (bp OMS) and quality accreditation e.g. ISO & IATF
A track record of the application of HSSE standards and delivering improvements
Prior Operational Team supervision experience an advantage
Engine oil product development experience or small/pilot scale manufacturing experience an advantage
A-levels/Degee in a Scientific or Engineering discipline (not critical)
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written in English
