Job summary

The primary focus of this role is defined to inspire confidence in the bp strategy, enhance bp’s reputation with internal audiences and deliver on business activities. Working in close partnership with the communications manager, the individual in this role will be expected to focus on sharing consistent messages with our people, support leaders + enable managers to engage staff and build stronger relationships, provide help in overcoming resistance to changes, and aid in message control, offer strategic advice and training for communications planning, audience identification, message development, channel selection and measurement including management of internal digital channels. This role also provides support to the Finance – GBS Asia entity for all communications engagements and will support partnering country communicators in Eastern Asia where applicable.

Key Accountabilities

  • Support with implementation of communications strategies and efforts for bp Malaysia (internally and externally) and the Eastern Asia region in line with C&A’s service offer, to enhance bp’s reputation and communicate the bp strategy
  • Support Finance – GBS Asia entity for all communications related activities including employee engagement
  • Maintenance of bp Malaysia digital communications channels (Yammer, intranet site for internal and external, dotmailer)
  • Offer strategic advice and training for communications planning, audience identification, message development, channel selection and measurement
Key Requirements
  • Degree holder in Communications or relevant discipline
  • 3 - 5 years of experience in the areas of communications or equivalent fields (internal communications, employee communications, digital communications, journalism)
  • Excellent communicator with strong attention to detail and ability to write for a variety of audiences and channels
  • Experience and understanding of using digital communication channels and social media to advance employee engagements and organization’s profile
  • Proven ability in working collaboratively and managing relationships effectively
  • Solution-focused proactive approach with the ability to identify and solve problems
  • Familiarity with project communications would be beneficial
