Job summary

bp’s North Sea business has a mission to be the best oil and gas business in the region. To drive improvements in safety, sustainability, profitability and efficiency. We are operator of 5 material assets and participate in 2 Joint Ventures operated by others and we employ >800 people.

This role will be accountable for the optimisation, risk management and compliance of existing commercial agreements; ongoing management of high-quality relationships with key commercial stakeholders and if required, the role will be also accountable for leading the development and delivery of new commercial agreements.

The commercial aspects of this role may principally be tagged to a specific North Sea asset, however, as a member of an agile pool there will be opportunities to support work across any of our assets as required following regular prioritisation by our Finance leadership team.

Key Accountabilities:

Agreement Management, Commercial Optimisation and Risk:

• Protection & promotion of BP’s interests, value optimisation of existing agreements through deep understanding and compliance with contracts
• Management of export and transportation agreement compliance, including bookings/notifications and amendments
• Management and resolution of JV commercial disputes
• Creation and delivery of Commercial Action Plans to support progression of asset project activity

• Creation and development of high-quality relationships with commercial stakeholders
• Support to Finance Manager(s) on Joint Venture Management

• Degree in Business and/or Finance and/or Engineering

• Relevant Finance experience in, commercial operations and stakeholder management
• Ability to set commercial direction and take leadership in task delivery
• Ability to prioritize and monitor progress against agreed objectives and deliver on time
• Ability to build and maintain internal and external relationships in resolving issues
• Ability to collaborate with functions to drive business value
• Excellent communication skills
• Experienced understanding of oil & gas business fundamentals
