Following our largest reorganization in company history, our people & culture organization is reinventing bp. The communications manager for P&C plays an integral part in helping develop meaningful communications about our reward portfolio, and in bringing other key P&C initiatives to life for 60,000 global employees.

The communications manager for P&C plays an integral part in helping develop meaningful communications about our reward portfolio, and in bringing other key P&C initiatives to life for 60,000 global employees.

The individual in this role is responsible for liaising with leaders and staff across our bp P&C team to develop and execute communications strategies and plans. Specifically, the individual will manage communications for the full reward cycle and support regions with reward messaging, as well as other key P&C initiatives, as needed.

Key Accountabilities

  • Develop a campaign approach to embed reward and performance, and other P&C initiatives across bp, aligned to our evolving people narrative and culture frame.
  • Manage communications for significant portfolios for the P&C team, specifically reward and other P&C initiatives. Develop meaningful and innovative communications strategies and plan and execute them.
  • Measure the effectiveness of communications campaigns and develop reports, highlighting what techniques and approaches had the highest engagement and developing and adjusting plans accordingly.
  • Work under tight deadlines to prepare accurate, timely communications for appropriate audiences.
  • Serve as a member of the P&C communications team, supporting other projects and team members, as needed.

Responsibilities

  • In the reward portfolio:
  • Maintain quarterly bonus scorecard communications
  • Oversee communications for year-end pay review and bonus
  • Develop innovative communications messages for updates to reward programmes
  • Support ad hoc reward communications
  • Within P&C:
  • Support initiatives and develop a campaign approach to underscore the activities, programs and initiatives that help bp recruit and retain the best talent from all over the world.
  • Work across the broad C&EA team to support and amplify key P&C activities through the year, woven into the broader story of the employee experience and the culture we are building at bp.
  • Stays up to date with key topics in reward and the people & culture space, understanding the nuance of topics and developing communications accordingly.
  • Maintains strong relationships with leaders and colleagues in P&C and C&EA; build a network that helps give feedback on how programmes and communications are resonating.
  • Complies with the function's safety and ethics rules and processes, follows procedures, and models bp's Values & Behaviours.

About you

  • Degree or equivalent experience
  • Significant communications experience
  • Evidence of superior writing skills
  • Experience developing and implementing communications plans for a global audience, setting and reporting against target metrics
  • Experience managing multiple projects with pressing deadlines
  • Strong leadership capability with ability to drive results
  • Experience working across Centres of Excellence and businesses to develop integrated, customer focused solutions
  • Excellent relationship building and communication skills with a good level of negotiation and influence
  • Must be familiar with MS Office suite
